Whether you are a tourist or a local in Singapore, it is almost a crime not to have been able to visit Marina Bay Sands at least once. I, myself, have taken many a visiting friend on a walking tour in and around this most popular of Singapore’s iconic tourist attractions. Personally, I think it is best viewed at night, away from the crowds and the heat of the sun.
Another reason I find it best to visit MBS at night is because this is when it comes alive! The mall may be closed but the best bars and top restaurants stay open till very late. Expect the prices to be on the steep side. But you need not worry if you are one of us, the lucky ones, to own a copy of the Eat Shop Play book set, with its hundreds of coupons and discount cards.
Marina Bay Sands was erected a few years ago to be one of, if not the, biggest and highest of hotels in the entire island. It’s main intent is for people to experience luxury, high technology and exclusivity. With these in mind, you’ll find within its doors the most high end shops for designer labels and restaurants owned by world-renowned chefs. And of course, let’s not forget the exclusive bars and night clubs with performances by the world’s leading DJ’s.
The newest and most locally famous of these would be Avalon. It is located right outside of Marina Bay Sands, in the ambitiously-designed Crystal Pavilion. Looking at MBS from across the bay, you can’t miss it. Inside, you are treated to an interactive display of colour-lasers and 3d-mapping, giving you the most state-of-the-art experience in night clubbing. But aside from that you also get a spectacular view of Marina Bay and the Singapore skyline. This is more than a disco, it’s an entertainment arena.
International lifestyle destination, Ku Dé Ta, can be found nested on top of the Marina Bay Sands. This includes a restaurant, a club lounge and a poolside terrace, all independent but still incorporated with each other. Here guests have all the different options at their disposal. What more can one want in a bar?
These are just two of the most widely-celebrated bars in the area. Aside from these, with a different ambience, there are also other options, such as Fuse, a classy laid back lounge which promises live entertainment with the best local bands. And Pangaea, located at the ground level of the Crystal Pavilion, who are known to host the audacious parties in all of Singapore.
Any of these would truly be an incomparable experience!
